Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan: Mr. Sampson, you are a cover-up artist and you are a liar.

Flipside: But NOT a snitch!

Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan:
Excuse me?

Flipside: No, we don't think we will.  This is such a crock of shit!

Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan: Flipside, you will watch your language.  You are at Indiana University now, not the barracks. Mr. Sampson, I will give you one final opportunity to speak up.

Flipside: Chief doesn't want it.  He doesn't need to labeled, "Still worthy of being an 'Indiana Man'.'"  What the hell is that?  What is your motto here?  "Fans, rat out your coach for the equivolent of a f---ing speeding ticket, save your hide.  Anything short of that we're gonna burn you at the stake?"  Well, gentlemen, when the shit hits the
fan, some guys run and some guys stay.  Here's Chief -- facing the fire -- and there's the Indiana administration, hiding in Ice Miller's pocket.  And what are you doin'?  You're gonna reward
them and destroy Chief?!

Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan: Are you finished, Flipside?

Flipside: No, we're just gettin' warmed up.  Now we don't know who went to this place -- Uwe Blab, Todd Jadlow, Richard Mandeville ... whoever.  But their spirit is dead, if they ever had one.  It's gone.  You're building a rat ship here.  A vessel for sea-going snitches.  And if you think you're preparing these minnows for manhood, you'd better think again.  Because we say, you are KILLING the very spirit this program proclaims it instills.  What a sham!  What kind of show you guys puttin' on here today?  The only class in this act is sittin' next to us.  And we say, this man's soul is intact.  It's non-negotiable.  You know how we know?  Because someone here -- we're
not gonna say who -- offered to buy it.  Only Chief here wasn't selling.

Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan: Sirs, you are out of order!

Flipside: Out of order?!?!  OUT OF ORDER?!?!  We'll show you "out of order!"  You don't know what "out of order" is!!!  We'd show you but we're too old, we're too tired, and we're too f---ing' swamped at work.  If we were the men we were five years ago, we'd take a FLAME THROWER to this place!!  Out of order?   Who the hell do you think you're talking to?  We've been around, you know? There was a time when weren't in our offices 14 hours a day.  And we've seen teams like these, younger than these -- with incompetent coaches, no heart, no brains.  But there is nothin' like the sight of an amputated basketball spirit.  There is no prosthetic for that.  You think you're merely sending this splendid Lumbee Indian back to North Carolina with his playbook between his legs ... but we say that you are executing this program's soul! And why?  Because he made a few unauthorized phone calls?  Give us a break.  You hurt this man, and you're going to be Hoosier BUMS, the lot of ya.  You hear us?!  Bums!   And Kravitz, Katz, Purdue fans ... wherever you are out there, F--- YOU TOO!!!!

Holier Than Thou Hoosier Fan: [banging gavel] Stand down, Flipside!

Flipside:  We're not finished!  Now as we came to be fans of this program, we heard those words ... "Cradle of  basketball."  Well, when the bough breaks, the cradle will fall.  And it has fallen here.  It has FALLEN!  "Makers of championships" ... "Creators of leaders" ... be careful what kind of leaders you're producing here.  We don't know if Chief's style here today is right or wrong;  we're no judge or jury.  But we can tell you this:  he won't sell anybody out to buy his future!  And that, friends, is called integrity.   That's called courage.   Now that's the stuff leaders should be made of.   [long, drawn-out pause]

Now we have come to various crossroads in our lives.  We always knew what the right path was.  Without exception,
we knew.  But we never took it.  You know why?  It was too damn hard.  Now here's Chief; he's come to a crossroads.  And he has chosen a path.  It's the right path.  It's a path made of competitiveness, a path that leads to championships.  Let him continue on his journey.  You hold this program's future in your hands, committee.  It's a valuable future.  Believe us.  Don't destroy it ... protect it.  Embrace it.

It's gonna make you proud some day.  We promise you.
